One Page 40k: games 1 to 4

Last month I tried this game: One Page 40k.
It is a very simplified version of the regular Warhammer 40k rules. Rules are available for free here:

I loved it. The games are fast paced and offer lots of interesting tactical options (especially because of  alternating activations of units, like in Epic Space Marine). Plus the rules are short (they fit in one page) so quick to read (perfect for my busy schedule). And I can finally use my sci-fi armies without having to read the big Warhammer 40k rule.

Day 1: we played 4 games, each game lasted one hour. Armies of 750 points. I played Space Marines (pre-heresy World Eaters figures) against Imperial Guard (Warpath Corporation figures) in games 1 to 3, and against Space Marines (Warpath Enforcer figures).

Scenarii:
game 1: Duel (just kill each other)
game 2: Sabotage
game 3: King of the Hill
game 4: Seize Ground

Results: I bagged two wins and two losses. Armies felt pretty well balanced. Some scenario were more favourable to one of the two armies, but each player had a chance in each game.

A few pictures.

Game 1:

Deployment of the Imperial guards. The Leman Russ was kitted out with an anti-tank cannon...

... which managed to immobilise the Land Raider from turn 1 !

Forcing the assault Space Marines to run in the open.

The Space Marines managed to find cover in the woods...

and throw a few missiles before falling under heavy fire.

Game 2: Imperial guards trying to move towards the enemy relay marker

But fall under the heavy fire of the revengeful marines.

Game 3: assault Space Marines take cover behind the Land Raider...

... and use their jump packs to reach the roof of the bunker, providing an ideal point to charge enemies.
